Grade 5 titanium tubing is an a-beta titanium alloy tubing containing 6% a-stable element Ai and 4% β-stable element V. The nominal composition of Gr5 titanium alloy is 7.0 aluminum equivalent, 2.9 molybdenum equivalent, and 10%-15% B-phase Ai in the annealed condition, which improves the room temperature strength and thermal strength of the alloy by solid solution strengthening of the a-phase in the Ti-Ai-V system. V is one of the few alloying elements in titanium alloys that can improve strength and plasticity at the same time.
