The Low Elastic Modulus Of Pure Titanium And Titanium Alloy

The Elastic modulus of Pure Titanium and titanium alloy is around 100 GPa, only half of steel, and with high drop strength (shown as the following picture), it can be used in springs, golf head etc.

Usually Golf head are made of Ti-6Al-4V by precision casting machining, Ti-6Al-4V, hitting side is using the material titanium alloy (Ti-4.5Al-3V-2Mo-2Fe) and 15-5-3 (Ti-15Mo-5Zr-3Al). The report pointed out that the ball should be used titanium alloy, the player will hit a ball while increasing average distance of 20%.
